Sylvia is a romantic comedy about a middle-aged man, Greg, who brings home a stray dog named Sylvia, leading to a comedic love triangle with his wife, Kate, who becomes jealous of the dog. The play, which premiered off-Broadway in 1995 and starred Mathew Broderick, explores themes of love, marriage, and midlife crisis through the lens of a talking dog (played by an adult actress) who disrupts the couple’s life in Manhattan. 

Charles Michel is an experienced Off-Broadway director in NYC, whose several acting credits at ACT include playing Truman Capote in “Tru,” Arvide Abernathy in “Guys & Dolls,” Richard Burbage in “The Book of Will, and Welch in “Damn Yankees”.

As “Annie” premiered on Broadway in 1977, we are celebrating its 50th Anniversary here in Anacortes.

Holly Wood is the drama teacher at Burlington Edison High School and also directed “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at ACT in 2024.
