Class ACT Update- COVID 19

June 1st, 2021
The Anacortes Community Theatre and Class ACT program have been virtual-only since March of 2020. Class ACT offered online classes in the Fall and Winter for our secondary students, which resulted in some very fun on-line performances. We also brought our Class ACT Schools program to all three Anacortes schools at the same time! This virtual production of “Adventures in Neverland” included more than 80 K – 5th grade students from Mt. Erie, Fidalgo and Island View Elementary. These virtual offerings were a great way to stay connected with our students, but we are so excited to start offering classes in-person once again.
We have health and safety guidelines in place for our returning in-person classes. These are based on current CDC and Washington State guidelines for classes, performances and summer camps. We will continue to update our safety guidelines as the official guidelines change. Click the button below to find out more about Class ACT current safety procedures.
Due to the restrictions on classes and theatre ticket sales in the last year, we have had to let go of the lease on the ACT Annex building. This was the building where we held our regular Class ACT classes. However, we are planning to continue with our programs as we move forward into 2022. Currently, we are working on reorganizing the spaces in the ACT main building to accommodate the storage and classes that were held in The Annex. We will be holding summer classes for our 6th – 12th grade students in the main building space this summer. However, due to restrictions on space and safety guidelines, we’ve made the decision not to hold classes this summer for our preschool – 5th grade students. We are exploring other spaces for our classes and performances, and we are excited to plan for a full schedule of classes this Fall. If you would like more information on our summer classes, please click the button below.
The Class ACT program has been working with students for more than ten years, and we will continue to provide great theatrical experiences for the young people of our community. We are thankful for your support in the last year, and we so look forward to seeing the faces of our students in person. If you would like to be notified of upcoming classes and performances, please email classact@acttheatre.com and request to be put on our mailing list.
