To produce and deliver great live performances; to provide a creative and challenging outlet for actors and stagecraft; to offer education for individuals of all ages to develop performance and stagecraft skills; to participate and actively contribute to the well-being of our community; and to be an advocate for community theatre and the performing arts.
Since 1964, Anacortes Community Theatre (ACT) has served the Anacortes community and the wider Skagit Valley by presenting consistent and high-quality live performances on our mainstage and in smaller productions.
Our broader mission and wide community support has allowed us to also serve our community through many other avenues of service, including our incredible year-round Class ACT education program.
Anacortes Community Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that truly celebrates live community theatre in every performance.
ACT is not a repertory, regional, or private theatre organization—anyone can be a part of our organization, so come and be ACT-er today!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community theatre. ACT is always in need of excited new volunteers!
Would you like to volunteer in some aspect of the theatre? Even if you have no experience at all, we’d love to have you!
We need a little bit of everything: from set builders, painters, and lighting designers / technicians, to costumers, hair dressers, and make-up artists, as well as actors, production team members, and Front of House ushers—all of the people who make the “magic” happen behind the scenes.

Monday – Wednesday 10 am – 2 pm
Thursday- 5 pm – 8 pm
During performances only: Fridays and Saturday 5 – 8 pm and Sunday 12 – 3 pm
Membership dues are $12 a year. All season ticket holders automatically become members!
Monetary donations of any amount help ACT fulfill its Mission Statement.
Donations have always been a vital source of revenue to help us grow and fund each new Season’s theatre-based activities. Your continuing patronage, volunteerism, and generous donations have made ACT the success story it is today.
We also accept donations in other forms! Donations to our costume shop or prop room allow ACT to continue celebrating vintage or antique cultures from all corners of the earth and from all different eras. Your donations of costumes and props help to complete oftentimes difficult productions, creating the highest quality productions on our stage within a limited budget.
Please consider making a monetary or item-based donation of any amount to ACT today. It’s so easy, and tax-deductible, ACT is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
With our annual season of six mainstage productions, Class ACT, Fringe, and many other theatre-based community events and programs, ACT reaches over 10,000 people annually.

ACT Show Sponsorships are an excellent way to promote your business or organization to the public while helping to defray some of the cost of producing one of ACT’s shows.
ACT Show Sponsorships are available for our mainstage, Class ACT, and Fringe productions.
For only $1,000 per production, your business or organization will be featured on every poster and program for over 2 months, reaching thousands of community members. We also display a 2’x10’ banner over our front doors for the duration of the production as well as a thank you to our sponsor before each performance! Whereas $1,000 in some venues will only receive an ad in the program, ACT provides much more visibility and response. Sponsor an upcoming show today!
