Students will then be a part of a narrated performance complete with costumes and makeup. A Note to ClassACT parents:
Anacortes Community Theatre is currently in the process of retooling our processes and programs to make them more equitable and sustainable as ACT bounces back from pandemic-whoas. One of these programs is ClassACT. We wish to bring this wonderful program into a bright new future!
The first step in this process was the promotion of ACT performer, teacher, and staff member, Abigail Hanson, to Education and Administrative Manager. Abigail is a skilled educator and artistic leader in our community whose true passion lies in facilitating theater performance and education opportunities for Skagit Valley youth.
The second step, this step, is adjusting our pricing structure to ensure ClassACT is financially healthy as it grows. In the past, our pricing was economical but barely covered the costs of running the program and did not leave room for growth. In the face of high inflation and our desire to bring you quality programming with the best teachers in the valley, we have had to make some changes. Starting this Spring and Summer you will see an increase in our classes for students K to 12th, these classes are still well priced and now better reflect the quality of programming your student is receiving. We do understand that increased costs can be a challenge for some parents facing economic hardships and we want ClassACT to be accessible to all. In the Fall, ClassACT will launch a full scholarship program for all ages. For now, if you are finding the current cost of tuition to be a barrier to enrollment, please reach out to classact@acttheatre.com. If you’d like to support your neighbors, you can do so by making a donation to Class ACT HERE.
What’s next for ClassACT? We plan to expand our offerings as we bring ClassACT to more local schools and create expanded classes offerings at our new additional location at Buxton’s (1904 Commercial Ave).
Thank you for your understand and patience as we move forward together!
