Beth and Brian: Torie and TJ Fantini

TJ and Torie Fantini are newlywed Anacortes locals that are thrilled to be able to perform for you virtually!
TJ is the current ACT board president, and both he and Torie are very active in the theatre community. You may have seen them last on stage in ACT’s Murder On The Orient Express or directing and stage managing together for META’s Matilda The Musical.
TJ and Torie send you all wishes of continued health and happiness and thank you for continuing to support Anacortes Community Theatre. Enjoy!
Director: Julie Johnson Lindsey

Julie is beyond delighted to be directing TJ and Torie Fantini in their first show together as husband and wife! There is a joy in watching your “theatre kids” evolve and grow both in talent and as people.
Julie has directed numerous shows for ACT, including Calendar Girls, Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors, The Full Monty and Peter Pan. She was last seen on an ACT stage as Mary in the original production of Regina Zaheer’s The Page Turners and as Ros in 9-5: T he Musical.
A member of ACT since 1973, Julie is the City Clerk for the City of Oak Harbor.
Director's Notes
Theatre in a time of COVID… I am so proud of ACT and other theatres that are finding ways to forge ahead, to reinvent ourselves, to keep the stage lights on. Directing TJ and Torie was an absolute dream. They are delightful, dedicated, and so talented. And that amazing natural chemistry sure springs off the screen as it did on the stage. I was privileged to play in this socially distanced space with them.
Thank you to Billy for making us an actual “set” to play on, to Cheryl, Ree and CarlAnn for painting it, to Martin for filming, and to Willow for selecting this sweet show and putting it in my hands. I have a playwrite/novelist friend in BC and we were conversing online about the show, the protocols, and the impacts of doing live theatre for film.
He: Theatre lives. But it’s different now. Is it film? Is it theatre? What is it?
Me: It’s a marriage of both. A marriage of necessity, as it were. An arranged marriage that provides a more secure, more constant place to move forward from. It fills a void. One day the two will once again part ways, but as partners without regret.
We’re all still creating, rehearsing, performing. It’s what we do. It’s who we are. Thank you, all of you wonderful, supporting patrons of the arts, for your part in keeping us motivated, strong, and sharing these bright moments with us. Enjoy the show!
