Audition Information

Auditions will be be held at the Anacortes Community Theatre Basement.  Located at 918 M Avenue, Anacortes, WA.

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, Detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.


Hercule Poirot

(30-50) detective, famous but not arrogant, French or Belgium accent

Monsieur Bouc

(30-60) Friend of Poirot, owner of Orient Express, French accent    

Mary Debenham

(25-35) anxious, sad, in love with Colonel Arbuthnot, British accent

Hector MacQueen

30-40) nervous, fearful, American    

Michel The Conductor

40-ish), professional, grave humor, almost like a   British valet, French accent    

Princess Dragomiroff

(60-80): proud, in charge, wealthy, Russian accent    

Greta Ohlsson

( 30’s) plain, quiet, frightened about everything, Swedish accent.    

Countess Andrenyi

(30-40-ish), sensible, level-headed Hungarian accent    

Helen Hubbard

(50-60), Snob, demanding, vulgar, pompous, typical ugly American(as foreigners see Americans). American accent (not Southern)    

Colonel Aubthnot

(30-40), military, matter-of-fact, in love with Mary Debenham, Scottish accent    

Samuel Ratchett

(40-50), unforgiving, brusque, threatening, spends part of on stage time as dead body. American accent (Texas is possible)    

Head Waiter

(any age): professional waiter in swanky restaurant. Any or no accent. Will help backstage .

Auditions will be cold read from the script. Please try your best accent for the various roles for which you are auditioning.
