Summer Class Schedule 2020

Summer classes meet every day for one or two weeks.

Preschool: Wacky Worlds

Monday June 22nd –  Friday June 26th

11 am – Noon

Let’s journey to the bottom of the ocean, or into a world of magic!  There are so many places our imagination can take us, and so many characters to be while we’re there. In this class designed just for 3 – 5 year olds, your young actor will create a character, learn a line and act out a new story. Along the way, through a variety of creative and dramatic games, students will learn theatre etiquette, develop their imagination, improve their self- confidence, and provide social interaction within an organized class setting.

K - 2nd: Fairy Tale Sale

Monday July 6th – Friday July 10th

10 – 11:30 am

12:30- 2:00 pm

What happens when some of the most famous fairy tale characters decide to shake up their stories by selling off the things they don’t want anymore?  What will Goldilocks break?  What will the Three Pigs make their houses from?  You’ll find out at the Fairy Tale Sale.

The class instructor will work with each student to help them create a unique character.  Students will then be a part of a narrated performance complete with costumes and makeup on the last day of class. Each day of class, students will also have the chance to play fun theatre games and work on their acting skills.

3rd - 6th: The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle

Monday July 13th – Friday July 17th

10 am – 2 pm

Why is Dr. Dolittle the most popular veterinarian in the country? Because he can talk to animals in their own languages! Soon Dr. Dolittle’s fame spreads throughout the animal world, and he finds himself on a voyage to help animals in need. Based on the original stories by Hugh Lofting, the Voyage of Dr. Dolittle is one grand adventure.

The play production for this class has yet to be determined.  This class starts with the experience of auditioning and contuse with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup. All students will receive a major role in this show that is performed for the public on July 17th and 18th at 7 pm.

7th - 12th: Singin' In The Rain Jr.

Monday August 10th – Friday August 14th AND Monday  August 17th – Friday August 21st

10 am – 2 pm

Class ACT is excited to present Singing In The Rain Jr.

The “Greatest Movie Musical of All Time” is full of hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards. Singin’ in the Rain JR. has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline — the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren’t always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina’s squeaky voice might be the end of her career in “talking pictures” without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

This class starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup.  The focus of the class will be on the production, but also on the development of singing and acting skills for each student.  All students will be featured in this production that is performed for the public on August 21st at 7 pm, August 22nd at 2 pm and 7 pm and August 23rd at 2 pm
