Sweeney Todd Auditions

When:  Wednesday May 29th 6-9pm & Thursday May 30th 6-9pm

Where: Anacortes Community Theatre, 918 M Avenue, Anacortes, WA 98221.

Auditions are open to all ages.

Initial Auditions: May 29th & 30th- 6pm to 9pm

Callback: May 31st- 6pm to 9pm

Final Callback: June 1st- 1pm to 4pm- Decisions will be made before the end of the day.

Full Cast Read through: June 2nd- 1pm to 5pm

For your first audition, prepare a song of any genre that is comfortable in your voice and that you love to sing. Bring your own backing tracks. Come in ready to play around. Enjoy yourself. You don’t need to be perfect or memorize anything. – Eric Millegan, Director

Synopsis

The witty and Tony Award-winning tale of love, murder and revenge set against the backdrop of 19th century London.An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

Sweeney Todd

A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is Johanna’s father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. Our story’s tormented protagonist.
